Kumpeltour 2025 – i arrive on the fourth day of the tour, checked to find the crew in the hundsrück area. This year the mode was that someone had to plan the route for a day with threee secret topics. I found Franky on the way and we made it to a supermarket where we rested for half an hour in fact of of heavy rain. There we met the others and we rolled easy to a nice hut Holger reserved. I got the storys of the days before and we had a nice bbq, a “strammer max” (one of holger’s challenges) and a silent, dry night. Lovely first day. 🔥
The start of the second day was with a flat tire of Holger and the switch to tubeless, on the track. Team work helped to manage it fast. It was the day of the other Thomas. He first implemented a kloster bakery with local food and drinks as his first challenge. Well done ☑️

Thomas’ second challenge was a visit of a schnapsbrennerei but there was none in the area. So he brought some schnaps for us to taste and we had a nice scenery for that. 🙂

On the way: Trier and Porta Negra before we headed to tank station to buy diner and arrive at a lovely hut in the woods.
Day six. Gunnar took over as substitute for one ‘kumpel’ who can’t make it. First a downhill, you wouldn’t ride 😉 Direction Saar and visit ‘Kulturgiesserei Saarburg’. Very interesting how and why bells were made. Lovely scenerys on the way, forest paths, ups and downs. We checked a supermarktet before we headed to a private garden as camp ground. That was a bit crazy. The owners of the house were watching tv inside while we had a camp fire and diner. 😉
Day seven. My day. My challenges were: do about one hour of anti fashist work or something similar, a lake for a swim and integrate a simbol or letter in the tour which is not seen in first. I got in contact with the Gedenkstätte Hinzert and offered our help. We could do some cleaning in the garden for a upcoming celebration. Nice. We also got a private guide for the Gedenkstätte and after the work a coffee, cookies and talk. It was emotional for all of us. The lake was justed passed in fact of the weather. We crossed a celtic ringfort in form of a heart. All challenges done. For the night we hat a lovey hut again. There are many of them in the area you can book. Lovely arrangement! For the last day we had just easy five k’s to a trainstation were we took the train(s) home in our directions. It was such a pleasure again to meet the kumpel’s and have quality time with them. 🫶🏻
