I decided with Erik to stay at the Bernstein for the new year, like two years ago, this time with the try to see the fireworks ๐Ÿ˜‰ The weather forecast was fine, just a bit below zero degrees, no clouds. Investigation about the super market was quickly done and it was open until 16h. Bรคm!

Erik wanted absolutely take some wood from there, that was his fault, because he had to carry it ๐Ÿ˜‰ We bought all we needed, food, drinks, candles and rode up. For me it was a nice ride with a new smaller chainring and Erik cursed the whole time.

We arrived short before the the sunset, which was very kitschy. We waited for our friend Ellen to arrive with her boy to join us and to start the camp fire. They arrived before it was dark and so we started the camp fire.

Two other groups of people arrived to celebrate the last day of the year, having some bbq with us and they walked back for their real new years party. A surprise was Fabian, a bike tourer of Karlsruhe who arrived around 21h and had the plan to stay also here, spent the night with raclette, an awesome view and in his tent. We shared the camp fire, our drinks and food left and had a great night until midnight to see the fireworks, amazing and welcomed the new year. Soon we went to sleep in our cosy sleeping bags.

Happy new year! 2020 started perfect, no clouds, fog in the valley. The night was not before below zero degrees, lucky us! All done the right way. Coffee, ham and eggs. Perfect start for 2020!ย  We enjoyed the scenery and packed slowly out stuff to leave into the cold, foggy town. Fabian joined our ride back home, it was a pleasure to meet him.

Thanks to Ellen and son, Erik and Fabian to make this evening wonderful!
